Dr. Arthur M. Langer is Senior Director, Center for Technology, Innovation and Community Engagement, Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University. He is also a faculty member in the Department of Organization and Leadership at the Graduate School of Education (Teachers College). Art's activities at Columbia University focus on the design and management of technology programs that provide applied knowledge to professional students. His research involves the study of Information Technology organizations in the workplace, reflective practices, mentoring, distance education, intellectual development, learning transformation theory, higher education and the design of technology-based curricula.
Mark Halloran is the outgoing CIO of Medco Health Solutions, a position he has held since September 2003. Halloran joined Medco Health in 1993 as director, information technology and architecture. As CIO, Halloran is responsible for managing an organization of 800 information technology associates with an annual budget of $300 million. Halloran's responsibilities include providing executive-level leadership to deliver high-quality, cost effective information technology services, as well as maintaining an effective relationship with clients, technology vendors, and industry standards forums. Halloran also serves on the management committee of Medco Health and is responsible for information technology covering all aspects of Medco's business operation. As vice president, e-commerce, he established an IT organization to facilitate product design and deployment of e-commerce services directed. He completed deployment of first PBM-based online pharmacy. Medco.com is currently the largest online pharmacy servicing over 6 million consumers and generating over $6 billion in drug sales. As vice president, international information technology; he was responsible for working with in country government agencies and business partners to establish clinical pharmacy benefits services within Germany , UK , and Holland . Prior to joining Medco Health, Halloran was with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation from 1984 through 1993 where he held several positions with increasing responsibilities in their information technology organization.
Mark E. Mooney has been senior vice president and chief information officer for McGraw-Hill Education since 2003. Mooney gives direction to McGraw-Hill Education's efforts in using technology to enhance learning and assessment and other initiatives to use technology to advance McGraw-Hill Education's objectives. Prior to joining McGraw-Hill Education, Mooney was vice president and CIO for Harcourt Education, Reed Elsevier, where he helped transform the company's technology function. Prior to his position at McGraw-Hill, he was senior vice president and chief technology officer for Vivendi Universal's Houghton Mifflin Company, where he was responsible for the integration of technology between Vivendi and Houghton Mifflin. He has also held senior technology positions at the Bureau of National Affairs and Interactive Marketing Services. Mooney has been awarded several achievement awards for his efforts related to implementing technology in organizations. In addition to receiving the Babson College Center for Information Management Achievement Awards, he also was an adjunct professor at George Washington University. Mooney was also a Fellow, Change Management Program at John Hopkins University. Mooney has a B.S. in engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, an M.S. in information technology from Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in organizational systems from the Fielding Institute.
Robert Galvin is the CTO of the City of New York's School Construction Authority, an organization responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of over 1,400 public schools supporting over 1 million K-12 students across the city's five boroughs. Since joining the School Construction Authority in 2007, Gavin has reorganized IT to streamline service delivery processes, established an IT governance structure, and created a project management office (PMO). Prior to entering the public sector, Gavin provided corporate IT leadership in a number of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, consumer products, consulting services, software design, engineering, and commercial construction. As a senior management consultant for Penta Technologies, a leading developer of construction enterprise software, Gavin provided ERP implementation support and business process change guidance to AMEC, the world's third largest engineering services company. he served as director of IT for the international curtainwall company, Enclos Corp. renown for such projects as the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the Getty Center in Los Angeles, and Bloomberg Tower in New York City. Galvin's work in the consumer products division at 3M, international and IT divisions, earned him the company's IT award for excellence. While at Dow Corning, he helped create the corporation's first full-text searchable material safety data sheet (MSDS) system. Gavin is a member of the New York Metro Society for Information Management and the New York City chapter of Project Management Institute. He holds a B.S. degree in management information systems from Central Michigan University.
Lawrence Walsh is the VP & Publisher of Channel Insider and an award-winning journalist, recognized for his reporting, writing and editing by several organizations, including the American Society of Business Publication Editors, the New England Newspaper Association, the New England Press Association and the Massachusetts Press Association. Larry is well versed in the technology and practices of information security technology, and is an expert in magazine publishing and newsroom operations.
Kevin Knox is Vice President of Commercial Business for AMD. In this role Kevin is responsible for developing AMD's commercial business through direct engagements with key end-user customers, enabling key system channel partners, working closely with OEM partners and developing AMD's commercial marketing efforts. Prior to joining AMD, Kevin served as vice president of personal and distributed technologies at the GartnerGroup research analyst firm. Kevin's client list included large enterprises, small-to-medium businesses, as well as government and educational organizations. Kevin also held IT-related management positions at Hertz, Pepsi and PPG Industries where he was responsible for a variety of IT and business functions. Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in Management Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
