Arthur Langer
Columbia University
Dr. Arthur M. Langer is Senior Director, Center for Technology, Innovation and Community Engagement, Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University. He is also a faculty member in the Department of Organization and Leadership at the Graduate School of Education (Teachers College). Art's activities at Columbia University focus on the design and management of technology programs that provide applied knowledge to professional students. His research involves the study of Information Technology organizations in the workplace, reflective practices, mentoring, distance education, intellectual development, learning transformation theory, higher education and the design of technology-based curricula.

Linda Chan
Veeco Instruments
Linda Chan is the Senior IT Director of Veeco Instruments, a leading provider of metrology and process equipment solutions used by manufacturers in the data storage, semiconductor, wireless, lighting and solar industries. As Senior IT Director, she is responsible for establishing and implementing policies, standards, and guidelines for the WorldWide Infrastructure. Chan is also accountable for managing and supporting Veeco Instruments' global information technology architecture and governance.
She has worked in the information technology field for more than 20 years in a variety of industries across both the private and public sectors and joined Veeco Instruments in 2000 after four years at Thomson Industries.
Chan holds a master's in business computer information systems from Hofstra University and a bachelor's in psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
She currently serves as a member of the board of directors for LISTnet. She was presented with the mid-Market CIO Leadership award in 2007 and serves on the advisory board for CIO Decisions Conference. Chan is active in numerous charitable organizations and participates in community activities sponsored by her local elementary and high schools.

Robert E. McFarlane
Principal & Interport Division President
Robert McFarlane, Principal Data Center and Financial Trading Floor Consultant, has spent more than 35 years in communications as both a consultant and teacher. His experience spans every segment of the industry including cable design, fiber optics, data communications, telephony, data center facilities, financial trading systems, satellite earth stations, video and multi-media, and acoustics. As a pioneer in the field of building cabling design Bob authored papers that set forth fundamental principles for the industry that are still followed today. He was also instrumental in the development of video teleconferencing, giving nationwide seminars on room and system design before writing the foundation paper, published in Architectural Record, that set the standards for this field. He is regularly interviewed by the trade press and has been asked to speak at countless seminars on building infrastructure for electronic communications, evolving technologies and the highly demanding requirements of data center design and financial trading floors and on which he is a leading expert.
Bob currently teaches the Data Center Facilities course in the Marist College IDCP (Institute for Data Center Professionals) Certification Program, which is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. He is a member of the Adjunct Faculty of New York University where he lectures in telecommunications. He publishes as a member of the Data Center "Ask The Experts" panel for TechTarget and is widely sought as a speaker at seminars on modern Data Center design with appearances at AFCOM, the largest organization for Data Center Professionals, and the TechTarget "Data Center Decisions" Seminars where he has been Keynote Speaker. His session presentations have covered overall Data Center Design, High Density Power and Cooling, and the newest Backup Power Systems and Applications.
Mr. McFarlane served for twelve years as President of Interport Financial, Inc., a firm specializing in designs for financial trading floors and critical data centers. Interport was acquired by the international firm of Shen, Milsom & Wilke, Inc. in 1999, and Bob continues as President of the Interport Division which carries on these multi-disciplined projects, as well as an SM&W Principal. Prior to joining Interport, Bob spent fifteen years as a Principal of Hubert Wilke, Inc., where he was Director of Middle East Operations and headed the office in Tehran before creating and running the telecommunications consulting practice for that firm in the United States. In this capacity he developed wide-ranging services in telecommunications design which included the data center and trading floor disciplines in which he continues to specialize.

Kevin Knox
Advanced Micro Devices
Kevin Knox is Vice President of Commercial Business for AMD. In this role Kevin is responsible for developing AMD's commercial business through direct engagements with key end-user customers, enabling key system channel partners, working closely with OEM partners and developing AMD's commercial marketing efforts.
Prior to joining AMD, Kevin served as vice president of personal and distributed technologies at the GartnerGroup research analyst firm. Kevin's client list included large enterprises, small-to-medium businesses, as well as government and educational organizations. Kevin also held IT-related management positions at Hertz, Pepsi and PPG Industries where he was responsible for a variety of IT and business functions.
Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in Management Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
